On Missing Time

We have been on lockdown for forty-four days. Forty-four days of suns and moons blurred. Tomorrow seeps with today seeping yesterday. I had to look it up, the time between the day Malaysia withdrew, eighteenth March, and this day. I couldn’t have given you a ballpark figure. I’ve forgotten what a week feels like—what it feels like to be mid-Wednesday and have some gut sense of Sunday’s proximity. Time no longer holds the same grip.
